(1)   Strength expressed in terms of grade was generally a reliable indicator of performance. The one exception was HMC, who were unable to translate their obvious talent into results over the board.

(2)   Given that matches were played over 5 boards, a squad of 8 was generally enough to cover all contingencies. HMC were unfortunate to suffer from player illness and unavailability at one particular time which required them to default a match. Imperial College and Railsport both spread the playing invitations around and thereby brought more players into the League.

(3)   Of the 70 players who turned out, a total of 48 (69%) were graded between 150 and 200. The average grade was 162, the minimum was 94, and the maximum was 210. A total of 15 players were graded 180 to 189, more than in any other grade category.

2 May 2012: All results from the League have been submitted for ECF grading. This means they should be included in the July 2012 online grading list.

1 May 2012: The League programme has come to an end. Many thanks to everyone who took part and helped make the League a success in its first season. Further information and stats will follow.

23 April 2012: Pimlico Guardians finish runners-up after winning their last match against Met Police.

17 Feb 2012: Pimlico Wanderers are the first League Champions of the new Central London League. The only team who can catch them on match points are Pimlico Guardians, but even with maximum scores in their remaining matches they would finish with fewer board points. So, congratulations to a group of individuals who came together to form a very strong team.

17 Dec 2011: As we approach the mid-season break, Pimlico Wanderers are top of the table (but have played more matches than anyone else). A total of 57 players have taken part in league matches. There has been only one default, and no player has lost on time.

02 Nov 2011: EBRD have unfortunately had to withdraw from the League. The fixture lists have been amended.

23 Oct 2011: Central venue. This map shows the exact location of the central venue (the church hall attached to St Saviour's Church, Pimlico).
